Music & Dance

The musical experience at Vintage Festival covers decades, genres and styles that have affected Britain over the years. Vintage has a policy to curate a line-up that sets it apart from other festivals and is truly eclectic. We’re not afraid to celebrate all genres and actively work with bands, DJs and performers to create memorable ‘I was there’ moments.

Main Stage 1

Friday - The New Dance Moderno

SEGRIO MENDES, ALOE BLACC & BAXTER DURY

Main Stage 1

Catch the new beats and feel the rhythms. Authentic Brazilian carnival music with Sergio Mendes, the deepest of deep new soul from Aloe Blacc, Baxter Dury’s offbeat electronic pop-ska and the sound of new London from Buster Shuffle.

Saturday - Thank God It’s Saturday

CHIC, CAMEO, BETTY WRIGHT & ALICE RUSSELL

Head to the dancefloor, it’s handbag central! The funk and flirtation starts here with anthems, soul legends, disco icons and soul voices to tingle any spine. Work is over; it’s party hearty time… and then some!

Sunday - Easy Listening Sunday

NOUVELLE VAGUE, ST ETIENNE & SWING OUT SISTER BIG BAND

Big bands in an ‘80s style, a fashionista sketch of Paris and a celebration of very, very English pop music. Lazing on a sunny afternoon could never be any easier. Lie back and think of England

Wanna Dance

There’s a whole history of cool dances out there and at Vintage we have dance teachers on hand to teach you how to do a bit of Lindy Hop, Twist, Tap, Jazz Dance, Samba, Salsa and even Breakdance. Watching all of you learning to dance was one of our highlights at Vintage 2011... Let’s hope that you remember the steps for this year!At Vintage we begin each day, in each venue with an hour’s free dance instruction led by professional instructors so there is no excuse for leaving our festival with two left feet. Who knows, you could be the next Len Goodman or Arlene Phillips! Ever fancied learning the Foxtrot, Quickstep or the Waltz? Learn to do a Northern Soul backdrop or to Jive during the afternoon and then try out your moves in the Vintage clubs that evening.
