The Tupperware Man at Vintage

5703

In October 1960, Mrs Mila Pond held the UK's first ever Tupperware party at her home in Weybridge, Surrey. Fifty years on, many Tupperware products are now vintage classics of product design, and many of the kitchens in the homes we grew up in have Tupperware products still going strong. There is a Tupperware party starting somewhere in the world every two seconds -- now including at the Vintage Festival.

Andrew Humphrey, a.k.a. Tupperware Man, is one of the UK's top Tupperware sellers, and he will bring an authentic vintage Tupperware party to our home at the Royal Festival Hall throughout the festival. Pull up a chair at the formica table in Tupperware Man's pop-up kitchenette by the main entrance, and he will demonstrate the timeless Tupperware classics for you. See the Quick Shake, the Shape-O toy, the citrus peeler, and other classic designs of the 1950s to the 1980s, most of which are still produced by the Tupperware company. Andrew has also hand-picked some future Tupperware design classics for our party, like the bowl which collapses completely flat, and the ice tray that dispenses one cube at a time.

Says Andrew, "It will be a real Tupperware party, with catalogues and order forms, and I will explain how to "burp" the bowls, as all Tupperware ladies before me have done. And like at any home party, there will be authentic Tupperware prizes for anyone who delivers a good Tupper-monial about a favourite product." For more of a taster, Andrew is blogging about the classic Tupperware pieces he will bring to the party here.
