In our commitment to make the festival accessible to everyone, we will provide those disabled ticket holders that require full time assistance with a free ticket for a personal assistant. To take advantage of this scheme, please specify when you email
info@vintagefestival.co.uk.You will be required to provide copies of recent (2011) DLA letters that show what your current level of care or mobility allowance is. We appreciate that some people may require assistance but not receive DLA, please contact us to discuss your access requirements. When you buy a Vintage Festival ticket through any outlet you automatically qualify for this scheme, you will receive a confirmation email which you must present on arrival at the event. It’s that simple!
We do ask that only those people that would be unable to attend the festival without the full time assistance of someone query through this scheme. The scheme is only available to ticket holders, so children aged 10 and under are not eligible.
Each request will be looked at individually. The scheme is not run on a first come first served basis.
We don’t send out free tickets in advance: access will be granted on site at the event.

FACILITIES:
If you are a Deaf customer please note Vintage provides a hearing loop at the
Deaf and Disabled ticket collection point, located at the main box
office/ticket-checking point. We are sorry but there are no interpreted performances, or staff members who can sign at this time.
ASSISTANCE DOGS
We provide an area for assistance dogs, which will be clearly marked on the access information and the map that will be sent to all our Deaf and Disabled guests closer to the event. The assistance dogs’ area will be located next to the site welfare operation.
VIEWING PLATFORMS:
A Deaf and Disabled Access wristband
(both day and weekend guests) is required to access the viewing
platform.
Viewing platforms are for the sole use
of Deaf and Disabled guests and their PA’s. Deaf and Disabled guests
will be able to escort children under 12 onto the viewing platform along
with their PA’s. This is to ensure young family members are not
separated from guardians or parents during the festival.
We have viewing platforms at the Main Stage only - full details and a map will be sent
through to each guest nearer the event.
Lighting will be provided where the stage associated with the viewing platform is operating in darkness. There will be an adapted toilet nearby. There is no shelter on the Main Stage platform.
The Main Stage disabled viewing
platform is raised and access to this is via a ramp next to the Front Of
House Position in the Main Stage Arena.
STROBE LIGHTING
Please be aware that Strobe lighting will be in effect during performances - announcements cannot be guaranteed before strobe lighting commences.
MEDICAL SERVICES WELFARE AND ASSISTANCE AT THE EVENT:
Festival medical services provide comprehensive medical advice and treatment facilities on site and are very flexible in meeting specific needs. Fridges will be available at the medic point to store any medication, if pre-requested.
ACCESS AROUND THE SITE
Vintage
Festival is in essence a celebration of the outdoors, based in the
beautiful parklands of Boughton House, Northampton. It is a green field
site.
There are tarmac access
roads which we try to make best use of, and across the site will be a
sheltered areas (marquees) and non-sheltered areas.
Hard standing roads connect the main
entrance to the accessible parking and camping areas. All other site
access is across green fields.
Please be aware weather and
ground conditions may be variable,
so pack for all situations!
ACCESSIBLE TOILETS
Accessible toilets and showers will be available on site, these are ‘festival style’ portable toilets and showers, all of which will be signposted, and shown on ‘you are here’ maps around the site. One of the accessible toilets will be located at the viewing platform next to the Main stage. The accessible showers will be in the campsite.
We have at least one adapted toilet at each toilet block in the
arena and one at each viewing platform. Accessible toilets will be
positioned across the site. All toilets will be clearly signposted and
shown on site maps across the festival site grounds. Stewards will man
all accessible toilets in the main arena and by the viewing platform.
OTHER FACILITIES:
There will be sign posted information/welfare and First Aid points located within the same area on the site.
NAVIGATION:
A site map will be available in May, copies will also be available from the Information Tent on the day.

PARKING/TRAVEL
The Deaf and Disabled Parking area will be located next to the accessible campsite and is accessible along a gravel track clearly signposted from the main entrance.
There will be a drop off/pick up point located at the accessible parking area.
ACCESSIBLE CAMPSITE
‘Festival style’ portable accessible toilets and showers will be available in the accessible campsite.
A Deaf & Disabled wristband is required to enter the accessible campsite and a steward will ensure only those with the correct wristband are allowed access.
If guests are arriving with friends and family, please feel free to camp anywhere across the general admission camping sites. You will still be granted access to the accessible camping using your wristband to make use of the showers, toilets and charging points.
The Accessible Campsite will provide charging points for power chairs and scooters. Additional charging points will be positioned at the info point located in the main arena.
FREE TICKETS FOR PERSONAL ASSISTANTS
Vintage is committed to providing a free ticket for
personal assistants for individuals who would be unable to attend the festival
without full-time assistance.
To obtain this ticket, purchase a standard festival
ticket, and then send us your request, and a copy of the entitlement page of a
recent (2011/12) DLA letter via the email or
postal address above. If you are unable
to provide a DLA letter, please contact us directly to discuss your individual
access requirements.
The deadline for all requests is Monday 2nd July.
All requests will be individually assessed, and we do not run a first
come first serve policy.
Tickets for personnel assistants will not be sent out in
advance, they will be available for collection from a Deaf and Disabled ticket
collection point located at the main entrance.
